FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)

BRIDAL TRIALS

Q. MAY I DO A PRE-WEDDING TRIAL BEFORE I COMMIT?

Absolutely. We want you to be 100% sure of your decision. Our Artists have extensive experience and many beautiful photos which showcase their talents – we are happy to work with you to create the look you want for your special day. Please keep in mind that your wedding date is not secured with us until a signed contract and deposit are in place. We do not hold dates pending trial runs.

Q: WHERE DOES THE BRIDAL TRIAL TAKE PLACE?

We invite you to our Studio for your Hair and/or Makeup Bridal Trial (located at 1534 Packer Avenue, Second floor, Suite 200-R, Philadelphia, PA 19145).  There is free and ample parking in the parking lot directly outside the Studio.

Q: how long DOES THE BRIDAL TRIAL last?

Each Bridal Trial may take less than, or last longer than one (1) hour, but is not to exceed 90 minutes.  If we are unable to achieve the look you desire after 90 minutes, we can either schedule another Bridal Trial with you or you may opt for another Artist, if available (re-booking fees apply for both options).

Q: WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY bridal TRIAL?

We recommend scheduling your trial date several months in advance of your wedding, after other details have been decided (venue, dress, veil, accessories, etc.)- since it can help set the tone for the look you want.  Brides who do the trial session too early often end up changing their looks several times over. On top of having to pay more for the extra trial session, you could easily end up choosing to settle for a look that is not the best fit for you.

If you are interested in booking a trial, please email us at FlawlessFinishArtistry@gmail.com for more information.

Q: Will the artist who does my trial be the artist who does my wedding day?

In most instances, yes.  However, in case of emergencies, you may receive a different Artist. We take photos and careful notes so the Artist can replicate the look completed during your trial in case of an Artist switch. Keep in the mind that we only replace your Artist under extreme circumstances.

WEDDING DAY

Q. for my wedding day, Will you travel to me?

We offer both options for your convenience!  We can travel to you - or - host your bridal party at our Studio.  We do have a 4-person minimum or a $50/pp additional fee applies.

Q: WHAT IF I ONLY NEED HAIR OR ONLY MAKEUP - NOT BOTH?

No problem! We are happy to provide just one service if needed.

Q: When should I book makeup and hair for my wedding?

As soon as possible! We book like all other wedding vendors - anywhere from 6 months to over 1 year in advance. We operate on a first-come-first-serve basis and can only reserve a date with a contract and deposit.

Q: How do I book with Flawless Finish Artistry?

To secure your event date, we require a signed contract and deposit (25% of day-of-services). We do not hold wedding dates, pending trial runs.  You can use the “Contact Us” form on this website or e-mail us - whichever is most convenient for you.  We can be reached at FlawlessFinishArtistry@gmail.com.

GENERAL

Q: I'm having a small, intimate wedding, can i still book?

Absolutely!  We require a 4 person minimum for each service area (Flower Girls and Blowouts Only do not count towards the minimum) or a $50 per person fee will be added.

Q: Do you offer A MILITARY discount?

Yes, and THANK YOU for your service! We proudly offer Military and First Responder Appreciation pricing.  If the Bride or Groom is in the Military or a First Responder, the Bride will receive 10% off of her wedding day services.  This includes all Military, Police, Firefighters, and EMT's - both active and retired. This offer is applicable to wedding day services for the Bride only and our 4-person booking minimum must be met (flower girls and blowouts only do not count towards the minimum).  If both the Bride and Groom are military or first responders, the discount is not doubled.

Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMEONE no longer wants hair/makeup services AFTER I'VE PAID THE DEPOSIT AND SIGNED THE CONTRACT?

If someone in your wedding party decides to forego hair and/or makeup and cancels their service, your balance will remain the same.  We do not permit swapping of services.  The total count of people receiving hair and/or makeup services on the Contract is not transferable from one service to the other.   If you would like to add-on people to the timeline, please let us know in writing, so we can determine if the request can be accommodated.

Q: WHy can't i delete services and receive a refund?

Like most wedding vendors, we book well in advance—sometimes over a year out. That means when Artists are secured for your date, they take themselves off the calendar for accepting any other work for that date. This is why deleting services at any time after we receive your Contract and deposit is not permitted.

Q. I'M not sure what makeup/hair look I want, can you help?

Of course!  We suggest you first begin looking online (Pinterest and Instagram are great resources) or through magazines and find several makeup or hair photos that you like.  During your Bridal Trial, we will create a look based on what you like and personalize it to accentuate your features.

Q: What kind of makeup brands/products do you use?

We use high-quality, professional grade products which ensure a long lasting and Flawless Finish (pun intended :). In our experience, one cosmetic brand doesn’t have the best of everything, so our kits have a strong range of different product lines.

Q. What is the difference between Airbrush vs Traditional?

Airbrush Makeup can sometimes be confused with Airbrushing in Photoshop.  However, makeup cannot alter the texture of your skin - only Photoshop can do that. When quality products are used and applied correctly by knowledgeable professionals like us, either of the two applications will leave you looking beautiful. But what is the difference between Airbrush vs Traditional?

AIRBRUSH

Airbrush makeup has become very popular for weddings where the bride and groom will be recorded by high-definition equipment. The airbrush makeup foundation that we use is either water based or silicone-based. It gives the skin a natural luminous finish no matter what level of coverage you desire.  It also photographs beautifully. Airbrush makeup is also very long-lasting.

TRADITIONAL

When we say "traditional" we mean any foundation that can be applied with makeup brushes, fingers or sponges (Creams, Liquids, Powders).  Traditional foundation is the most versatile - it can be as basic as a sheer tint of coverage to targeting specific skin problems offering fuller coverage. Traditional foundation can yield amazing results - making your skin look absolutely gorgeous!
